    Default 86Da teardown and restore

    Hey everyone been rebuilding a 250crossy for a while, been trolling the fourm looking for possible blowthrou turbo builds that ain't to technical as I have read a lot of post but get confused on cam and piston details when talking 40thou etc. So heres a few pics of the engine and if any one knows what the code on the c2 head is I'd appreciate it, I have a second head I'm just practicing porting and polishing on aswel

    should the small crack between the 2 valves matter? I read noone really cares to much about it and some do

    I bored out the intake and exhaust to 2mm from valve seat is that to much?
    sorry it took solong to upload the pics I hade to change resolution which took for ever

    I'll add one thing, when I did my XF Fairmont Ghia EFI, I smoothed out the "pointy bit" between the valves which reduced the "hot spots" and allowed me to run more advance before it would ping. Compression was higher so it was worth the work. I found the details in a document from Ford at the time.

    I have seen alloy motorbike heads like that and it can be a problem, but it's also tricky getting someone to reliably weld up a crack in cast iron stuff in general. Odd issues generally get down to either the imperfection causing a leak between the inlet and outlet, or a hot spot developing but neither is garaunteed

    Cheers for the input and Jim I'm just waiting for my order on ebay for dremel sanding tubes, then that's definitely the next thing I'll be doing any one have opinions on what valves and springs to use or should I just go with a basic above standard combo
