    Re: Cleveland 351 Crank

A stock cleveland crank weighs 56 pounds. A Scat Superlight crank weighs 48 pounds. 52 pounds for a standard weight Scat crank. Cranks are heavy. Are you thinking of the imbalance which is 28oz for a...

    Re: Cleveland 351 Crank

    3.85 = stroke, 5.955 = rod length, 2.1 = rod journal diameter, 52 = 52 lbs weight (I think).

Recommendation for a good workshop in Sydney

I have a small problem with my FG MkII G6ET. When the temperature in the car starts to reach the climate control setting, I'm getting a dull clicking sound from under the dashboard. I'm guessing it's...

Re: Want to Sell My Old Car

I don't know about Western Australia, but I got a quote here in NSW for I car I was selling and it wasn't even trade in value. I ended up selling it privately for $14k when the quote for...

    Re: "New" FGX still available?

Have a look on carsales.com. There are XR6 Turbos, XR8s and sprints all claimed to be brand new. I would imagine some dealerships are hanging on to the last of their stock and will only sell for full...

Re: does converter need to be removed with auto ?

Remove both together. You will never get the tangs on the converter to line up with the pump in the transmission. Trying to force it will damage the pump. It's physically easier anyway since you...

    Re: Jesel shaftmount rockers setup

Jesel says these rockers are engineered to have the correct geometry for each application. Have you checked your rocker geometry yet? If you have and the roller sweep is not where you want it to be,...

    Re: Hydraulic Lifters

They use the same lifter as any V8 (Windsor, Cleveland, 429-460, FE). Johnson lifters are made in the USA. The Johnson HT900 is packaged as several different brands including Federal Mogul and Sealed...

    Re: Fiarlane G220

$6K is definitely low. I'm a bit surprised it has a Boss 260 as I was of the impression a Boss engine won't fit under a stock bonnet. Regardless, I would be asking at least $10K.

Re: Mk II Sat Nav Update

Just got the word. When Ford introduced Sync2, they stopped supporting Sat Nav in all previous models. Disappointed but not surprised.

Re: Mk II Sat Nav Update

That's an idea, maybe someone has a hack, google can't find me one though. I'm currently in a twitter conversation with Ford Service. It's staggering how little they know about their own product

Re: Mk II Sat Nav Update

Tomtom now does the map updates. They have told me there is no map update service for USB based systems and to contact Ford. I see a dead end in front of me.

  20. Re: What Aussie fords will become future collectables?

Good XDs and XEs are going up in price. However I don't see any Fords from 1980 on that are worth restoring to keep as an investment. One thing is for sure, unless it has a Tickford badge, NO AU will...

Try streeting it? Not legally in any state in Australia. MD Conversions did it years ago under old rules. Maybe try googling them.

    Yes, under the washer
Put a little engine oil on the threads

Head Studs: 90 Ft-lb with moly under the washers
    Mains: 95-105 ft-lb
Rod Caps: I would contact ARP (the end of the bolt should have ARP written on it if it's genuine) but stock bolts are 40-45 ft-lb
