    Thanks TDCorty, Hallee and tfghiatcxlematt. All good advice. It is booked in with my mechanic at the end of the month as he has been super busy. Will let you all know the outcome.

    Thanks Matt. The weird thing was that the coolant (Nulon Type A also) looked full in the radiator. I'll see how she goes this weekend.

    Thanks for the ideas PD56. Funnily enough I had the radiator flushed and a lower radiator hose replaced, water pump outlet checked just in February.
    I'll be taking the Corty out for a test drive on...

    Thanks for the advice. I'll keep it in mind for the future. I ended up getting an old wiper motor from a wreckers. Cost me $150- and seems to be working well for now.
