Re: BA Falcon 04 LPG - Starts but doesn't run

What about the balance pipe from the converter to the airbox?

Check both ends to see if they're connected properly and not cracked.

Fitted an XD/XE crossflow into my uncle's f350,

The old loom has 2 wires in one plug that goes to the coil, I've put a multi meter on them and both have 12v to them. Never mind I just worked out...

    Re: Welsh plugs

    Cast or alloy head?

I'll go have a look, from memory there's one on the end of the cam and one in the water jacket.

I know the alloy head doesn't have any it's a grub screw.

    Re: Worth the money?

It's certainly had quite a bit of work done. Personally don't like the chrome rocker cover.

Few concerns, spelling of sense instead of since. Might just be a typo... But I'm wary of simple words...

    Re: Xd fuel tank

Cheapest/ easiest option is the dump pipes.

Otherwise You'd have to go custom fuel tank.

Re: 2002 PE Courier 2.5TD (Turbo Noise)

Does it seem down on power at all or faulter, hesitate when you hear the noise?

May pay to take the intake pipe off and check shaft play when cold.

Then start it long enough to get normal oil...

    Re: TD/TC rear disc conversion

The trouble with the view count, includes web not searches not just the members who have viewed the thread.

If anyone googles Cortina disc conversion it shows up in the results and is counted.

  11. Re: 03 BA Egas, stalling for little reason. Faulty Alt.?

    Dodgy coil or coils.

Replaced them with some second hand ones to test, car ran fine, I didn't get round to putting in new ones before I sold it.

The new coils fitted by the friend's so called...

Your point being? That's almost how long he has had my crossflow engine.

People need to know what type of person he is. Takes your money, then when you call him out for the liar he is he ties you...

    That's rich coming from you!

2 years and my folks are still waiting for you to replace the rocker gear that was "stolen" from your factory. That your house mate told me 3weeks later were "found"...

  15. Re: Minimum RPM's to get an alternator charging?

Yeah deerr is me... I forgot to factor in the pulley size difference...

    Tired brain.
  16. Re: Minimum RPM's to get an alternator charging?

On the drive home I have it some thought.

The minimum rpm would be what the car idles at, roughly 750-950rpm most produce 14 thereabouts volts at idle. So you'd only need around 800-1000rpm...
  17. Re: Minimum RPM's to get an alternator charging?

Yes the whirly bird was what I had in mind. However a whirly bird I don't think would have enough surface area to spin an alternator.

What I had in mind is a drum split down the centre and joined...
  18. Re: Minimum RPM's to get an alternator charging?

Turbine design is another thing to consider, there are more efficient designs than the traditional tri blade units that only operate when wind blows from one direction only like the ones you see on...

Re: FG ute tailshaft centre bearing size?

As far as I can work out there was an update somewhere. From the universal joint shaft to a CV joint shaft.

There's also a difference in the width of the mounting bolt holes.

Re: Cortina mk2 1600GT firing order

Looks like std. Firing order is 1243

Did the intake manifold have the firing order cast on it?

Is it the std. Cam? Or an aftermarket one?

Sorry I don't have any experience with these.

If it's just that one door that has issues, it's most likely the lock actuator in that door.

  23. Re: 2003 ba falcon ute, spark plug has corroded/ threaded head

There are specific spark plug thread repair taps that are supposed to be safe to do without removing the head. From what I've seen you somehow put it through the hole and cut the tread as you wind it...
