I've got it!
Today I took delivery of a Aug09 built Ego G6ET with Cashmere, 18" std wheels. It's a mint condition demo with 3,800 Km Ego was amongst my preference with Velvet and Steel. A lot more common that the other 2 but it's still very very attractive! Given the chance I would probably have gone for shadow leather but Cashmere is a good match for Dark exerior anyway. I'm also glad the demo has 18". I dun think i'll have much fun driving on 19" in the pothole capital of Australia. (selfishly I wish G6 LE dun come with them std, so that they remain more exclusive!) Anyway I flew to VIC this morning and drove it straight back to Sydney, observations so far: - Very good steering, ride and handling: comfortable mostly, and more than capable when needed be. - who put a jet engine in there!?! amazing power which need some familiarisation, certainly a little bit of turbo lag and not as linear as the NA I6, but jeez it's a real fire cracker! - Wet + DSC off = all hell break loose, just dun do it. - 9.0l/100km average for the entire trip from Melbourne to Syd (Hume highway) - Did I hear blow-off valve venting on full throttle upshift??? I can seriously not think of a better car to get at similar prices. btw it was a serene experience to drive 10 hrs with no Rego plate, front or back! (just an Unregistered vehicle permit) A few poor quality pictures posted, more to come after i get the rego!

Awesome car. Glad your enjoying it. I bet you were restless on the plane.... just wanting to get in the bloody thing and drive it.Factory LSD would make it perfect. No wonder they are selling paul. Bang for your buck and they look really upmarket and nice. |

Nice!
I agree about the jet engine though... I sometimes wonder what they were thinking when they decided to put it under there, but I'm bloody glad they did, its a rocket! Hope you enjoyed the drive mate, I did the reverse for my baby, flew to Sydney to pick it up and drive it to Melbourne... Oh and yes: DON'T switch the DSC off in the wet...

that is a very nice car.
I am pleasantly-surprised to see Ford do that light cream-coloured leather. I really like that, and I hate black or grey leather. So one more reason to buy a G6E turbo, and not a FPV F6 or F6E (I don't think that upholstery colour is an option from FPV - shame, as black leather is really boring and grim. Who wants to sit in a tomb?)

Congrats mate. Glad it all worked out in the end. Now enjoy it.
The G6ET is truly a jet dressed a large 4-door family sedan. Given that its a demo, probably not a bad idea to replace the engine oil now. |

They did the 3000Km service the day before I picked up the car, so the oils been taken care of~ (or has it?)
all it's needed to be done now is to go and drive it quickly so the ZF learns my style. it's still on highway 110Km/h mode at the moment~

Congrats on the new car chenga and welcome to the G6ET club. The car does look great, ego is a very popular colour in the Fg range especially in the G series,(but I still prefer mine in Velvet) don't worry too much about the Cashmere interior just give the seats a wipe over every 2-3 weeks. That is what I do with mine.
As you did I also drove mine back to Sydney from Melbourne, spins a lot of people out when they notice that you have no plates. Police didn't even take a second look, probably seen a lot of new cars doing it over the years. But it does put a whole new meaning to as you go through the speed cameras |

Then every 3 months I completely clean the seats and condition them. http://www.studioleather.com.au/index.html I have been using these products for the past 31/2 years after being put onto it by a motor trimmer that I deliver to. Last edited by RAPID XR8; 12-12-2009 at 10:08 PM. |
