    Question UT Explorer cd stuck in stacker.

    Hey all,just wondering if anyone knows how to pull out the 6 stack in dash stereo system.The Mrs cd stacker has jammed & she cant eject any cds & to top it off she cant change the radio stations because of the stacker problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

    Hey mate,
    We had a similar problem, had to pull out the cd player, and partially dismantle the thing to remove the CD.
    We've since changed the unit because it kept causing problems.
    Ford dealerships will do this for you but there is a charge since its most likely out of warranty.

    most OEM stereos require a couple of kinda special tools to remove the stereo.
    The 2 most common ones are thin metal keys that slide in either side of the stereo ( head deck stacker etc) they push a couple of latches outwards and release the main unit.
    The other is 2 U shaped metal tools that are also inserted beside the head decks side (sometimes into 4 small holes) They also release a few ratchet style tabs that hold the stereo in.
    Old post I know but more for future referance.
