gday all, first off sorry for large photos
bought a k&n filter yesterday so today went to fit it.
while i was at it i also had a crack at two little booster bits to increase air flow, so thought id post up what i did incase anyone else wants to save their hard earned coin on aftermarket stuff. got the idea because i was going to buy the ss inductions bigmouth inlet. so i thought why not make my own??
inside the air box lid there is a reducer to restrict airflow into the inlet tube. it just simply pulls out and opens up the inlet pipe a fair bit. here is a pic of the reducer and where it was placed:
then installed the k&n which is self explanatory
then grabbed some tin snips, heat gun, and a 100mm pvc 88 degree elbow from the ute and made this:
took about 10-15 mins. not the neatest but i didnt have much more time its all hidden anyway
coat of cheap paint:
and no-one is none the wiser:
next is the v8 lower airbox and snorkle and il be happy with that for inlet airdid notice the car is smoother through the rev range and doesnt feel like its choking as much which felt quite noticeable in the manual.
and frankly any improvement is a good improvement imo
cheers for looking![]()
