off to bed, that'll do.
off to bed, that'll do.
Some more finds and that TE wagon with Vic rego -IYX, that's quite an early example, I think the number plate is from April 1977. If so it's one of the early TE's off the line
few more finds coming

No matter what I'll NEVER be able to top that previous find of the LP rear cover! Anyway we'll continue on with a few older finds going back 10 years or so

I went and had a look at that beige XLE in the front yard a few years ago, the owner wanted a grand for it but the 80's pop up sunroof turned me off it. Should have bought it anyway!
Oh yeah, would probably make a good discussion thread - The ones that got away, I recon many of us would have stories regarding similar events. Anyway I'll see what other older pics I can find on the hard drive files.
What a beauty this TC XL 250 was, came up for sale approx 10 years ago

I wonder if you saw this one years ago Pete - 73 Jewel Green TC XLE, I had the files dated as March 2005. The car was for sale [complete] at a Penrith wrecking yard, from memory around the $700 mark, stayed for sale for a few months, looked OK though, certainly better than the example I had of the same car 20 years ago!

Two Tc wagon finds and a chopped Td sedan convertible, found near my cousins house I'll just say in north west country Vic.
a few more...
Here's one Bill66 and his son will remember, them and me could hardly keep away from this car back in Feb 2013 at the Small Ford Day Williamstown. The one owner [lady in her 90's] purchased this TC XL GS Rally Pack 250 Wild Violet wagon brand new in 74, the original B&W plates are close to my wagon though condition and option wise its way ahead.
Once again I'm NOT a member of facebook and never will be though did find pictures of this wagon from the daughter of the elderly lady. Looks like the daughter has shinned up and put back to use this car, seems to be getting around and looking really nice.
That aqua colour TC XL 4cyl sedan, I think that was taken around my way approx 30 years ago, maybe on Blackburn Rd near Doncaster. The 76 Update Outback Bronze TD XLE, ummm that could well be an elderly couples car I used to see [and have pictures of] around the Burwood Melb suburb 15-20 years ago, who knows but its a super fine looking example.

The daughter of the nice elderly lady who owns that beautiful TC GS wagon, the daughter has been getting around quite a bit in her mum's car, she took a picture of it with another TC [sedan] in Brunswick, I recon she was going past where her mum and dad purchased the car new from in 74. It was a car servicing place but they had a license to place orders for new cars or Fords at the time, they told me the whole story lol.
The blue TC 6cyl wagon, last time I saw that car was in 2007 going south bound on Middleborough Rd near the intersection of Canterbury Rd Box Hill, good to know its still getting around.
Just trying to somehow put 2 & 2 together. I think the guy who owns that Apollo blue TC XL 6cyl wagon, I might have filmed him at the last Cortina/Escort Melb car club show in 1996 - Small ford day Eltham Park. You'll see a guy with a beard sitting on the ground with his dog, that guy owned the blue TD 250 wagon [pictured below].
That TD wagon was something very special, he put a mint TD XLE interior in it [with XB electric window's] and made that TD wagon into the only true XLE wagon, the first time I saw this car was at a club meet Doncaster Hotel in 1994. Good to know the guy is still out there and into these cars.

Here's another from the hard drive archives, this 75 TD XL 250 wagon came up for sale in Melb back in 2007, the original owner an elderly man from memory was selling the car, it came up for sale a year or two ago but had moved over to Perth
