    Default EB radio wiring guide

    Hi,

I am looking for a pin wiring guide for an '92 EB Falcon cassette radio. I am also looking to interpret the colours of the wiring used as in what colour to what speaker, what colour is accessory, etc. I am really pulling my hair out over this, I am trying to wire in a new cd player. Any help is appreciated.

use a test light to find power, accessories, dimming, and earth. then you have the arial. Then the rest should be speaker wires and if you use a AA battery you test each pair of wires and you will hear which speaker it is.

1/2 hour wiring. use solider, dont do a strathfield job and twist the wires and put masking tape on them

Thanks Bass, the only problem is my test light has just gone to the bin which is why I was asking in he first place.

If anyone else reads this, I am still chasing a colour/wiring guide for my EB.

    Thanks

I find it absolutely amazing that I have had so many offers of assistance (not) and all without putting me down or trying to make me feel like an idiot (not). I thank all you generous morons from the bottom of my heart. You are the type of guys that prove the world would be a better place if you didn't exist. Did any of you consider that I might live a long way out of town and so have no easy access to shops. Did any of you consider that it would actually be nice to give someone help instead of making gratituitous assinine assumptions about being better than me because I had the temerity to ask a question about cars and I am obviously female. A simple answer providing the info I asked for would have been a better idea unless of course you actually didn't know, and then of course I apologise for asking such an obviousy difficult question.

    Thanks for nothing dipsticks.

Explanation format is primary colour first, secondary (or stripe) colour second.

Red/Blue: To central controller unit. Not sure here, but I think this may be permanent power on for the radio's memory.

Black: Ground. Also to power antenna height switch

    Green/Yellow: Power through ignition switch

    Grey/Yellow: To power windows

    Brown: Park Lamps

Speakers: Polarity is not given in the book, unfortunately.

    Pink/Black: LH Rear
    Pink/Green:LH Rear

    Blue/Black: RH Rear
    Blue/Red: RH Rear

    Orange/Black: LH Front
    Orange/Green: LH Front

    Grey/Black: RH Front
    Grey/Green: RH Front

tizzy, did you consider that we do not have the wiring diagrams for the radio wiring. BUT with the aid of a TEST LIGHT you will be able to work out what wire is pos, ign, neg, dim, speakers, aux pos.

I guess you dont apreciate the help. if you live too far away from shops. MAKE ONE!!
