Ok you have heard about it no its time for show and tell.

From this shot you can see it has been lowered with series 2 wheels. Tint and you can just see the twin piston cebco brake package complete with Tickford embossed caliper

No the Ford badge has not been removed. This is one of the more agressive looking cars to have come up behind you. Not my words by the way. The lack of the visible badge and the lowered stance tends to make people think WTF is this

What all V8 fords should have. Two clearly visable pipes.

These are 2.5 and they sound awesome. Better than T3

IMO what rear headrests should look like. Full Herrod leather.

    Nice Car Ian!
I agree that thats how the rear head-rests should have been like, the normal AUs were next to hopeless.
Wouldnt that fire-extinguisher be annoying though?

Paul can you move this to the Au section. I didn't realise photos were meant to go in that section. Sorry:08

I agree with the first sentence but if the second is true, then you're my new best mate...

Deep brutish roar mixed with an untamed burble that rocks the whole car and screams for attention. Also signals that this raw beast should not be messed with.

Thats how I describe T3. Make a description for old AU XR8, I used to have one identical to yours (new anyway) and the exhaust note from that wasn't exactly crap.

Very nice Ian, remarkably similar to mine (or my old car anyway). Have you had any engine work done or just the exhaust? Not to down play the exhaust ofcourse and that was were I gained the most grunt relative to $$.

    Welcome CDAA,
How much was your XR8 kicking out before you got a new car?

    Hi Paul,

My XR8 was dyno'd at 184 rwkw, about 250 (ish) at the fly I think. The exhaust was one of the first custom made by Genie here in Adelaide. Other changes were a larger throttle body, injectors and a Unichip.

Not much really when look at it, but it was sure fun to drive. An excellent car.

Did you do any performance times before and after the mods? I imagine that it would have picked up alot of speed, although I'm guessing that it was an Auto because the standard manual wouldn't have handled that much power?

    What have you got now?

    Default Performance times

Unfortunately I didn't, thou I can say it felt noticeably faster. From my past experience with the 400m run (I've been down a few times now), I would estimate she was good for quite a low 14 pass conservatively. As mentioned in another thread my XR was outputting around 160rwkw from factory. Not sure why, but we found out when they did the before and after comparo with the Genie exhaust.

The car is also a manual and handled the power OK with the exception of some occasional reluctant gear changes from 2nd to 3rd, mainly when putting the boot into it.

    Hello CDAA.

Good to see you here. The engine is "standard". It does have SVO injectors and like yours somehow produces way more than it should. The day the car was dyno'd, it pulled around the 150rwkw mark but had a flat spot in it. In the weeks leading up to the run I had trouble with idle problems and a faulty cam shaft sender. The dealership failed to fix those problems so it had to run like that.

Ian, I noticed the rear seat has a flat top, unlike the standard one with the round half-head rests.
Is it the one standard on the AU Wagon?
