Mods For My Eb11
 

Hi guys,
i,m just doing some mods to my eb11 fairmont ghia 93 4.0L gonna get a port and polish and a shave as well, but i also want to put a stage 2 cam in as well, my question to you's is do i have to change the chip??? i'm also doing a cold air box with the k&n filter, so i'll let you's know how much more grunt i get out of her when i'm done, oh i've already put the header on with a 21/2" exhaust pipe so it'll be breathing freely when i'm done. :p :p :p

no you don't. The factory ecu will handle the cam, though a chip would be good (but I'm staying out of the chip's are bad/good discussion that will follow...)

You don't need the chip but it has it's place, if your getting the head done the local guy fly-cut 1mm extra material around the exhaust valves on mine and the temperature stayed down a bit after that. It went up after the cam install. I am back to a standard head after one of the mates got to the car and the modified head got cooked and bent by 5 mm.

Are you saying that i'll have temperature problems if i change my cam to a 2stage? and that i should fly-cut my exhaust valve by a mil ??? has anyone ealse done this :confused: :confused: :confused:

I never had any temperature problems with my ED when I put the cam in.

It is possible I got other problems but I still have the other cam and the engine does run cooler with it in. There again ambient temperature today was 42 degrees centigrade!
CORRECTION my bomb still has some issues definatly. I have fixed a miss in the engine but it is still running rich as.
The guy that did the head said the extra material removed was to reduce the likelyhood of the head splitting between the exhaust valves and the plug holes? I personally didn't know it was an issue but I did notice the engine temp drop on the gauge by 2mm.
Think about it, more air and more fuel =more bang=?
